Edison Manufacturing Company production; distributed by the Continental Commerce Company. / Cinematography by William Heise. / © 8 May 1897 by Thomas A. Edison. Kinetoscope 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. Hand color-tinted. / The production was shot on a day in or between April to August 1895 in the Edison Black Maria studio, West Orange, New Jersey. A card with a large ‘C’ is visible, indicating the film was made for foreign distribution by Continental Commerce Company [Edison’s foreign agents]. Musser control number 139.

Performance: Dance.

Synopsis: [From Edison promotional materials] One of the most popular dances ever presented. Beautiful costumes and startling effects with the calcium light. Extra film when colored.

Survival status: Prints exist in the Library of Congress film archive (American Film Institute collection); and in the British Film Institute National Archive film archive.
