Tony Gaudio
(same as Gaetano Gaudio, Antonio Gaudio and Tony G. Gaudio)

Born 20 November 1883 in Cosenza, Italy, as Gaetano Antonio Gaudio.
Died 10 August 1951 in Burlingame, California, USA.

Brother of cinematographer Eugene Gaudio.

Tony Gaudio began film work as a cinematographer in Italy in 1903, and emigrated to the United States of America with his brother Eugene in 1906. After a stint at Vitagraph, Tony would become a staff cinematographer for Independent Moving Pictures Company, Incorporated, from 1910 through 1912. He would shoot many (if not all) of the IMP productions in Cuba starring Mary Pickford and Owen Moore in 1911. He would work for Metro Pictures Corporation and First National Pictures, Incorporated.

Tony dabbled in film direction in 1925 for Columbia Pictures Corporation, and he would serve as president of the American Society of Cinematographers.
